World Club 7s comes to Ireland for the first time this summer

Limerick will host some of the biggest names in club and provincial rugby from both Northern and Southern Hemispheres, teams for the Limerick World Cup 7s festival include Daveta ( Fiji), Saracens, New South Wales Waratahs, Stade Francais, Moscow, Auckland, New York, San Francisco Golden Gate, Vancouver, South Africa’s Blue Bulls and Western Province, and Munster Rugby.

“Superheros” is the theme for this year’s event, with colour, cheerleaders and crazy costumes commonplace, dressing up at 7s festivals is actively encouraged. Thomond Park will also introduce its first ever dedicated ‘Family Zone’ with specially designed activities for children throughout the day. As well as the legendary facilities at Thomond Park, visitors to Limerick World Club 7s are invited to enjoy the events happening throughout Limerick, as this is a citywide festival, not just a rugby tournament.
Local businesses are supporting the event through a number of initiatives including an Embassy partnership, which will see 11 Limerick pubs partner with the 11 visiting teams to act as an official Embassy for each team. Each pub will celebrate the culture, food and traditions of their chosen team.
